Period: 2025-11-03 to 2026-06-30 (full-time), with a possibility of extension.

About the role

We are seeking an outstanding Data Engineer to join our client's Data Governance team.

You will drive the development and refinement of policies, tooling, and enforcement processes to support and ensure the ethical, compliant, and strategic governance of our data.

What you'll do

• Support ongoing enhancements to data governance frameworks by analyzing usage patterns, identifying improvement areas, and recommending updates.
• Perform analysis on structured data to surface insights, identify risks, and suggest opportunities to strengthen compliance and governance practices.
  
• Work with key cross-functional partners to design and implement strategic approaches to data governance challenges.
  
• Derive and articulate technology and engineering requirements based on designed policies and approaches.
  
• Liaison between business and engineering stakeholders, with capabilities to extract necessary engineering requirements from business and compliance obligations.
  
• Vet and provide feedback on technology changes and impacts or alignments required for current and future policies and plans.

Who you are

• You have a BA/BS degree in engineering or information systems.
  
• You have at least 3+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and/or enforcing policies for compliance and/or data governance strategies.
  
• A technical understanding of data management, data governance, information systems, and compliance in a cloud-based environment.
  
• You have the capability to work autonomously and make independent decisions to meet deliverables with minimal oversight.
  
• You are passionate about continuous improvement with a strong desire to continue learning in order to stay relevant to business changes and industry trends.
