Period: ASAP to 2026-10-26 (full-time), with a possibility of extension.

About the role

The Platform Research team is looking for a strategic, adaptable User Researcher to join our client for a six-month contract. Their mission is to drive data-informed decision-making across the Platform mission, serving both internal developers and users of tools like Backstage.

As a contractor, you will provide critical "burst capacity" for high-priority initiatives, specifically supporting the the five studios that make up the SAFE Alliance: User Platform, User Fraud, IT, Security, and PACE (Procurement, Analytics, and Cost Engineering).

You will empower teams to understand their users through rigorous evaluative and generative research. You’ll be part of a distributed team across EMEA, working closely with data scientists, designers, and product managers to reduce decision risk in complex domains.

You will be accountable for defining, planning, and executing end-to-end research cycles. While exact projects shift with business priorities.

What you'll do

• Execute Research: Lead both generative (discovery) and evaluative (testing) research to guide product direction.

• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the Platform IDR Studio, Product Managers and stakeholders.

• Manage External Agencies: Coordinate with specialist agencies to recruit niche participants and ensure research rigor in complex fields.

• Advocate for Insight: Educate stakeholders on best practices, ensuring human insight is integrated before key decisions are locked.
